42 Powrmatic Vision air conditioning units were installed across the entire hotel utilising the no outdoor condenser technology giving the hotel an energy efficient hotel room air conditioning solution.

Project Background

The Oxford Belfry is a four star hotel in Oxfordshire that’s perfect for both business and leisure. The 154 bedrooms at The Oxford Belfry provide a sense of style and comfort, a haven in which to relax after a hard day. After installing the No Condenser Air Conditioning Vision 2.3 units at the Nottingham Belfry and Norton Park, both part of the Q-Hotel chain, Oxford Belfry wanted to provide hotel guests with simple to use air conditioning, enabled them to have a peaceful nights sleep and reduced loss of room rental during installation.

Project Solution

42 rooms were fitted with the Vision 2.3 by Powrmatic installer Clovertech which had external walls. The unit are able provide both heating and cooling for the room via the touchscreen or remote controller. With a sound noise level of only 27DbA, the units are able run without any disruption during the day and when sleeping. 4 rooms were fitted with special roof vents which allowed the units to be installed into rooms which were located adjacent to a tiled angled roof disguising the vents within the tiles.


Project Result

The fast-track project was carried out over a two-week period between 10am and 4pm to ensure the rooms remained in use throughout. This was facilitated by the packaged design of the Vision 2.3, which requires no outdoor units – thereby also ensuring no interference with the clean lines of the hotel’s facades. The white grills on the external wall allowed the vents to seamlessly integrate into the exterior walls unlike conventional air conditioning systems which have unsightly external condensers and pipework
